Cool! Believe it or not (as a developer) I do take into account how much someone tweets and the follower count they have. If they have too many followers then they will never get to read yours and it they tweet too frequently your not actually going to gain anything from them.
http://twitter.com/ollieparsley if you wanna follow me and fit the conditions listed above, subject to an approval process where I will check your blogs Google PageRank. Only kidding!
I could be wrong because I am still fairly new to twitter and I’m an automatic no follow with the santa hat (at least this month). But I think your points are really good.
The thing is though by restricting so much you don’t expand the mind and get all you can. MC HAMMER by your definition would not be worth following. I followed, checked out his page off and on and have had opportunity to spark an article idea (how to talk to mc online) AND learned about dancejam, techcrunch and how to outlast the younger generation on the dance floor. :)
Following your logic I might not ever get interactive convesation… but heck I’ve had 3 conversations.
Same with problogger. Lots of followers and I’ve had the pleasure of talking with him several times.
There is equation you forgot, timing of day.
Oh and if I didn’t expand my horizons I would never have discovered the humor of NixTheNews or the graphic tutorials of Mayhemstudios. Both of whom I try to retweet often and learn from even though I am not a comic, not a newscaster and not a graphics person.
@Alrady Hehe, I’m not either of these guys and don’t play by their rules. I judge every follow on it’s own merits. I suppose I do use a few guidelines when deciding to follow someone or not.
But then I am following @The_Real_Shaq just for his quotes :)
I also judge people whether they post too often. I was following mayhemstudios until everyday my entire page would be filled with his re-tweets. Too bad because he ocassionally had cool stuff.
Hi nice post, i have come across your site once before when searching for something so i was just wondering something. I love your theme, would it happen to be a free one i can download, or is it a custom one you had made? In a few weeks i will be launching my own site, i’m not great with designs but i really like the style of your site so it would be cool if i could find (or pay for) something with a similar look. :) Thanks!
@Ulysses - I created my wordpress theme myself and it’s not up for download at the minute, sorry. I would still have to modify it somewhat to make it available for everyone, but don’t have any plans to do that at the minute.

Love it Paddy.. Reminds me of those IMD comic strips from a few years back! The characters look strangely familiar too! :D Looking forward to 1.2!
